Coronavirus: ill six month baby girl who had a open heart surgery in December 19 tests positive for Covid-19
Erin has had a series of heart medical problems such as a heart condition and windpipe probems since she was born and needed open heart surgery in December.
The mother of Erin Bates says she is "heartbroken" her daughter has been diagnosed with Covid-19.
She has had to use a ventilator due to illnesses affecting her windpipe. Good news is that Erin dad Wayne said "Erin's condition was stable but he was upset people were not taking the virus "seriously".. "I take it personally."
The family have released a photo of Erin in hospital to encourage people to follow the government's social distancing rules and personal hygiene recommendations. The family urge that people stay at home and keep safe.
Erin Mother is worried with the thought that she could be separated from Erin if she catches the virus herself. She said: "If I show any symptoms I will then be taken to another hospital and Erin will be here alone, which breaks my heart that if things get worse our baby girl maybe on her own when she needs her mummy and daddy by her side."
